I feel like I am so late to the party. Last time I read through the Harry Potter books, I stopped at book 4, Goblet of Fire and never picked up the rest. Having heard from multiple people that the later books in the series were better, I decided on a reread of the entire series.

Last time I was looking for a book for my monthly Prime free borrow from the Kindle Owners Lending Library, I saw they had made Harry Potter: The Complete Collection available. Seven books in one? Duh, I borrowed it.

It took me a little over a month, but I just finished all seven books and wow. Deathly Hallows was my favorite in the entire series, I guess because of closure, and Goblet of Fire probably my least favorite, but this is kind of like saying you had a plate of unique and delicious cookies and had to pick your favorite out of the whole plate. I'm definitely a Hermione fan.

I'm taking a break for a while, but I want more!

I've only read one of the books and now I've seen all the films I probably won't read the others. I generally like to read books before seeing the films. Hermione was always a cool character :)

i'm in the process of re-reading the series (starting from book 4) myself! i read them all when i was younger but i hardly remember the books from the middle/end of the series, mostly because i didn't get to reread them much (or watch the movies.

a lot of people seem to have GoF on the bottom of their faves list for the series. i do too. what are your thoughts on half-blood prince? that one's one of my favorites!

never did like snape much. it kind of felt like he was a bit overly glorified. his love for lily and death didn't evoke much sympathy from me. pushing around defenseless kids didn't sit well for me. (i never thought about it before but people brought up how dumbledore was basically grooming harry to be a self-sacrificial lamb and the moral implications of that have some parts of the fandom in hot debate. what do i belieeeeve)

and i know right? kid me was like "OOOH HE'S GOT VOLDEMORT'S BOOK HE'S GONNA LEARN ALL ABOUT THIS GUY!" i was pleasantly surprised, however. very happy with the double agent plot, not so much snape as a character.
